10 stitches you need to know #2 how to sew a running stitch.
The straight or running stitch is the basic stitch in hand-sewing and embroidery, on which all other forms of sewing are based. The stitch is worked by passing the needle in and out of the fabric at a regular distance.
Sew a line of running stitches by inserting the needle and thread through both layers of fabric a short distance from your starting point. Bring the needle and thread up to the top of the layers the same distance as the first stitch and keep repeating until you reach the end.
